Undekhi on SonyLIV (and OTTplay Premium) has always been an intriguing show but this time around, with Undekhi 3, the makers brought in a twist almost nobody saw coming. The twist, of course, came in the form of Varun Badola’s character Jaideep Malhotra. A lot of things changed since the big revelation, and with that, the makers left clues on whether there will be a fourth season of the show. Here’s how the ending affected everyone’s life (obviously, major spoilers ahead)…
Varun Badola’s Jaideep Malhotra, the big surprise
It was a showdown between Varun Badola’s Jaideep Malhotra and Harsh Chhaya’s Papaji aka Surinder Atwal. It is known that Surya Sharma’s Rinku Atwal is adopted. There were two stories put in front of him, with Jaideep claiming he is Rinku’s father and Papaji trying to defend himself by calling Jaideep a liar. Rinku chose Jaideep after Papaji killed the love of his life Muskaan (accidentally) and hid the information from him. There was no trust left between Rinku and Papaji. Now, the real question is, is Jaideep actually Rinku’s father? Time for flashback. A few episodes prior, Jaideep said that he wants to destroy Surinder’s family. By sending those gifts to Surinder, he could be challenging the criminal to prove his innocence in the only matter where he could be innocent (when it comes to his family), and given the situation, Papaji failed. The other scenario is that Jaideep is actually Rinku’s father and the season has come to an end, but given the ‘destroy the Atwals’ statement, that is unlikely.
What happened to Papaji?
After finding all evidence against Papaji and with Rinku also supporting DSP Ghosh (Dibyendu Bhattacharya) this time around, Papaji has finally been imprisoned. His wife and sister-in-law are now in Amritsar after leaving Manali.
What about Rinku, Daman and Teji?
Rinku showed a new side since the arrest. He asked his ‘veerji’ Daman (Ankur Rathee) to shift to the US with his wife Teji (Aanchal Singh). The same has not happened since Daman and Teji were adrift by the time the show came to an end. Additionally, Teji is pregnant. This means that there is more in the story waiting to be explored.
The case ended
One cannot overlook that the case against Papaji has ended. This is because he is imprisoned after tons of evidence were collected against him. At this point, he doesn’t have a strong case to defend himself. Thus, if at all the makers plan a fourth season, it will likely commence from after Papaji gets out of prison.
