His son Abir Chatterjee has recently debuted on Hindi OTT with Avrodh 2. Now, veteran actor and theatre activist Falguni Chatterjee will also step into the web with Abhinay Deo’s Brown. The series that also features Karisma Kapoor, Soni Razdan and Helen was shot in North Bengal and Kolkata in May. Falguni will be seen as a retired IAS officer in the series. In fact, Abir will be seen in a cameo in the series.

In an interview with Anandabazar Patrika, Falguni said that the story is Kolkata-centric. “I am deployed for a murder investigation. Another woman comes to help me. Karisma plays the character of that woman,” he said. Falguni is also impressed with the director. The veteran actor praised the perfection and precision of Karisma’s style of work.

Falguni said that he is not very fond of sitting for auditions anymore to get a role. He further explained that he missed out on several Hindi projects because of his preference. However, he is pleased to bag a role like this without an audition. He believes that this work will help him in the future. Falguni is a veteran stage actor who heads the group, Lokokrishti. Besides, he is a regular face on TV. He has recently worked in Dhulokona, which features Manali Manisha Dey and Indrasis Roy in the lead.

Produced by Zee Studios, Brown will see Karisma as the lead character. Before the shooting, the actress, in a press statement, said that the series offers her a kind of storytelling that is not just exciting but also challenging for any actor. “And that is exactly what attracted me to take the part up,” she said. Brown will also feature Soni Razdan and Helen. Surya Sharma will be seen in a key role. The script of the series is based on Abheek Barua’s the City Of Death. Billed as a neo-noir crime drama, the series has already built interest among the audience.
