The trailer of Vidaarth-starrer Carbon was released a month ago. Tipped as a crime drama, the movie has Dhanya Balakrishna playing the female lead while Marimuthu, Munar Ramesh, Ajay Natraj, Vikram Jagadish and Vinod Sagar among others essay key characters in it.

Directed by R Srinuvasan, the movie which has been bankrolled by Benchmark Films, has music composed by Sam CS, cinematography by Vivekanand Santhosham and editing by Praveen KL. Veteran action choreographer Kanal Kannan and Viji Sathish have composed stunt scenes and dance movements respectively for the movie.

The film's story revolves around a youngster whose dreams turn out to become true. When he starts considering himself blessed for the unique ability he possesses, he gets the shock of his life after he dreams about the death of someone close to him. He tries various ways to stop the dream becoming true.

Upon the advice of a few people, he starts recreating the things he did the previous day to see the dream again to know more details about it. But little did he know that he has to pay a price for the same. Will he be able to save the person?

Vidaarth, who was last seen in Endraavathu Oru Naal (streaming on Zee5), which had a direct-to-OTT release, will next be seen in Anbarivu, which is having a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar. The actor plays an antagonist for the first time in the film. 

He was last seen in a notable role in Jyotika-starrer Kaatrin Mozhi (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), the remake of Bollywood flick Tumhari Sulu (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). He played the role Manav Kaul enacted in the Hindi version.
