The news of Ajith doing a movie under Vignesh Shivan's direction was announced earlier this year. Tentatively titled AK 62, the project has Anirudh brought on board to compose music. The film will mark the musician's third collaboration with the star after Vedalam and Vivegam.

The untitled film to be bankrolled by Lyca Productions is likely to begin soon. While fans of the star continue to keep guessing about the movie's genre and other details, Vignesh has spilled the beans on how he is going to approach the film.

In a round table interaction organized by Galatta Plus, the filmmaker said that he has zero pressure despite getting ready to work with a huge star like Ajith. He excitedly revealed that the first instruction he received was to make the film he wanted to make. According to him, this has made him comfortable which would also help him not to compromise on his style.

Vignesh said, "I have ample freedom to do what I want to. It's good that there is zero pressure in spite of me going to wield the megaphone for an Ajith-starrer. I guess this will help me to deliver something good."

The director last made Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal, the multi-starrer rom-com, which was released this year. Nayanthara, Samantha and Vijay Sethupathi played lead roles in the film, which minted money at the box office, despite garnering mixed reviews among critics and the audience.

AK 62 will be Vignesh's first big ticket project. Though he has worked with Suriya for Thaana Serndha Koottam, the film released in 2018 was an official remake of Akshay Kumar's Special 26.
