In the time since Challenging Star Darshan was arrested in connection with the brutal murder of his fan Renukaswamy, the actor’s fans, whom he calls his celebrities, have been struggling to come to terms with it. The media, of course, has been going to town with all things Darshan and how barbaric the murder was and catching hold of his friends and colleagues in the film industry to comment on the incident.
While most have refrained from directly accusing Darshan, speaking instead only about ensuring justice for the family of the deceased, the few who have spoken up have been receiving threats from Darshan fans. Taking cognizance of this, in the last few days, the police has started taking action against those making threats.
Now, Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi, who had gone off social media in the immediate aftermath of the arrest, is back and has used the platform to urge his fans to remain calm. In her post addressed to the ‘celebrities’ she wrote that it is sad that they are in this situation today (Darshan being in jail at the Parappana Agrahara) and that they have to stay at a distance from him. Vijayalakshmi, who has visited the actor along with their son Vinish, during which Darshan is said to have been quote emotional, said that she apprised him of how fans have reacted to the situation.
“Darshan has urged all his celebrities to stay calm and focus on doing good deeds and he is sure that he will be part of your prayers,” she wrote, adding that they have immense faith in the judicial system. “I firmly believe that those attempting to harm Darshan through words/action during his absence, will be taken care of by Mother Chamundeshwari,” she wrote, adding as her last words, “This too shall pass. Truth will triumph.”
