Karthik Subbaraj's Mahaan was his second continuous direct-to-OTT release; the Vikram-starrer dropped on Amazon Prime Video on February 10. The action movie opened to decent response and the performances of Vikram, Bobby, Muthukumar and Dhruv were appreciated by one and all.

Santhosh Narayanan's background score and Dhilip Subbarayan's action scenes, too, received special mention from film lovers across the country. The movie was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. It has been 50 days since the movie was released, and Vikram has released a heartfelt note through his publicist thanking everyone associated with the movie and the audience.

The note read, "If something brings as much joy as doing what we love most...it is enjoying its success. Working in Mahaan was an unforgettable experience. To see that translate into such a phenomenal mega hit across four languages puts a huge smile on my face."

He thanked Karthik Subbaraj for giving him a spectacular canvas, the freedom to play Gandhi Mahaan to the best of his abilities and for being his guiding light. Vikram thanked Bobby and said that he cannot imagine another actor playing the role. All praise for Simran, he termed her brilliant.

He said that Dhruv rocked as the character Dada and thanked the producer for making the movie. On a concluding note, he also expressed his gratitude to Amazon Prime Video for helping the film reach millions of homes and hearts across the world.

Vikram's next release will be Ajay Gnanamuthu's Cobra; the movie is expected to release on May 26. It will be followed by Gautham Menon's Dhruva Natchathiram and Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. The actor will be joining the untitled film to be directed by Pa Ranjith soon.
