Chiranjeevi's star power shocks trade: Waltair Veerayya enters profit zone in just a week

Waltair Veerayya is a film that was awaited by one and all as Chiranjeevi did a mass role after a very long time in his career. The action drama was directed by Bobby and had Ravi Teja in a special role. The film was released as a Sankranthi special on January 13th to a very good word of mouth and festival holidays also worked in favor of the film's collections.

We at OTTplay reported a few days back that Waltair Veerayya needed to make a 94 crore share at the box office to break even. Waltair Veerayya needs this much to be in a safe zone The trade pundits found this figure a tough one as Chiranjeevi's last film Godfather started with a bang but could not make the needed money to be in a safe zone. But Waltair Veerayya has shocked one and has broken even in only a week.

As per the latest trade reports, the film has made 97 crores share in its first week itself. While the film made 82 crores from the Telugu states, 9 crores were amassed from the US box office. The rest of the amount is from other regions across the world. This is quite superb and once again iterates the fact that Chiranjeevi is the king of the box office when it comes to commercial films.

Mythri Movie Makers is the production house and they will be in huge profits as the film is super strong at the box office. The other films from last week have also slowed down and as there are no other biggies, Waltair Veerayya will have a clean run in the days to come. Shruthi Haasan played a key role in this film which had hit music by DSP.
