WHAT! Amitabh Bachchan had got rejected from the Indian Air Force for having long legs? Here’s what we know

If not shooting for films, Amitabh Bachchan is seen exhibiting his impeccable hosting skills in the extremely popular knowledge-based game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, which is currently in its fifteenth season.

There have been many times when Amitabh Bachchan has revealed something or the other (read ‘unknown facts’) about himself to the contestants and the audience. This time round, Amitabh Bachchan revealed yet another lesser-known and super interesting fact about himself on the game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. During his interaction with a contestant, Amitabh Bachchan went on to reveal that, after he had applied to join the Indian Air Force, the application was rejected! And the reason that Amitabh Bachchan stated for his application to be rejected was that he had long legs!

Amitabh Bachchan got rejected from Indian Air Force?

To elaborate the interesting incident a bit further, let us tell you that the contestant who was on the hot seat was Jeetendra Kumar, who happened to be a senior accountant at the Ministry of Communications. After getting to know about his job profile, Amitabh Bachchan asked Jeetendra Kumar if he always wanted to be an accountant. To which, Jeetendra replied stating, he actually wanted to go into the Air Force and for that, he had also gone to take many exams for NDA (National Defence Academy).

Major General's influence on Amitabh Bachchan

In the same breath, Jeetendra Kumar told Amitabh Bachchan that a friend of his had told him that even he (Amitabh Bachchan) had taken the exam for the Air Force. The contestant then asked Amitabh Bachchan if it was true. To which, Amitabh Bachchan replied (read ‘revealed’) that before pursuing acting, he wanted to join the Indian Air Force but had failed to do so. He added that his application to join the Air Force was rejected because his legs were too long! The superstar added that, after completing his schooling, he didn’t know what to do and that he used to stay in Delhi with his family. Out there, a Major General from the Army used to stay nearby.

Amitabh Bachchan added that, the said Major General had come to his house once and had asked his father to send him (Amitabh Bachchan) to the Army as he would become a big officer. Amitabh Bachchan added that his intention was to go into the Air Force. The superstar then revealed that, when he had gone for the interview at the Air Force, they rejected him saying that since his legs were too long, he was not eligible for the Air Force. ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’ airs on Sony Entertainment Television from Monday to Friday at 9.00 pm.

As for the films, Amitabh Bachchan is now all set for his latest release ‘Ganapath’, which stars Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in the leading roles.
