About a year ago, Rocking Star Yash was at the pre-release event of Shiva Rajkumar’s Bhajarangi 2, where the two of them were joined on stage by Puneeth Rajkumar, and the trio danced together to the hook step from a song of the film. Yash and Puneeth had not seen each other in a while prior to this, so, when they met, they had a lot to catch up on. When Puneeth then passed away only days later, it was a major jolt for Yash, something that made him introspect about what life really is, said the actor speaking at the pre-release event of the late Power Star’s dream project Gandhada Gudi, Puneetha Parva.

Speaking at the event, Yash exhorted the thousands of Puneeth fans who had gathered at the Bengaluru Palace Grounds, and the millions who were watching the live telecast to make Gandhada Gudi one of the biggest success stories there can be. “Gandhada Gudi must break and bury all box office records, including that of KGF. Every person here should take their family to go and watch this film,” he exhorted. Yash also addressed Puneeth’s widow Ashwini and assured her of his support to keep her late husband’s legacy going.

Gandhada Gudi is a 1 hour 37-minute long docu-feature, with Puneeth and Wild Karnataka maker J Amoghavarsha on a trip across the length and breadth of Karnataka to experience the forests of the state and so much more. This was Puneeth’s passion project, one which would allow his fans to see him as more than just the Power Star, but as Puneeth the person that he is in real life.

The star-studded show, Puneetha Parva, was a tribute to the late actor, with his family, friends and colleagues from the industry in attendance, each sharing anecdotes about time spent with him. The event had Tamil star Suriya, Telugu actors Rana Daggubati and Akhil Akkineni, as well as the who’s who of Kannada cinema, including Sai Kumar, Sumalatha, Abishek Ambareesh, Krishna Ajai Rao, Darling Krishna, Nishvika Naidu, Samyukta Hornad, Ashika Ranganath, Radhika Pandit, Ragini Dwivedi, Prakash Raj, among many others.
