Yogaraj Bhat & co. begin Garadi promotions on Yashas Surya's birthday, first single out soon

Yogaraj Bhat, known for his romantic comedies and drama films, surprised everyone by opting to make a film about the traditional sport of kushti or wrestling. Set in the old part of Mysuru, the film is said to be a commercial entertainer that attempts to shine a light on Indian gymnasiums, pailwaans/wrestlers and the interesting world that they occupy. 

Yashas Surya stars in the lead role of one such pailwaan with Sonal Monteiro playing the female lead. Cop-turned-actor B.C. Patil is producing the film under his home banner and will also be playing a prominent role of a kushti trainer/coach. Challenging Star Darshan, who launched the film before it went on floors, will also be seen in a key role in Garadi.

On the occasion of leading man Yashas Surya's birthday, the makers released a special teaser to wish him on the special day and also announce that the first single of Garadi will be out on June 14. The teaser could also mean that the team is slowly gearing up for the theatrical release and the upcoming song launch could be the first step in the promotional journey. 

Yashas Surya has previously stated that he had to undergo physical training to fit into the role of a traditional wrestler. There's a gripping character arc, too, one hears, wherein Yashas' character transforms from being a cook/chef to other wrestlers to becoming a major wrestler himself - the actor is said to have striven hard extremely hard to make this performance believable and compelling. 

Fans of Challenging Star Darshan, too, would be curious to know how the superstar fits into the world of wrestling. A few weeks ago, Darshan's look in the film was leaked when a few fans spotted him at the shooting location.
