Advance bookings for Yuva Rajkumar’s debut film Yuva have opened in select single-screens and multiplexes, with more to be added in the course of the day. Going by the trend so far, it appears that fans will not get midnight or early morning shows to celebrate this occasion, with the theatres that have opened bookings beginning with 9 am shows only.

Director Santhosh Ananddram had earlier said that the production house, Hombale Films, is not keen to begin before 8 am on March 29 and ruled out paid premieres a day earlier to only capitalize on the long weekend starting with Good Friday. While this has left fans disappointed, the first show that was opened to the public in Bengaluru at Veeresh Theatre, was sold out within minutes. The team had said that they are targeting a 300-350 centres for Yuva’s release, which should translate to well over 1,200 shows at the least.

A quick check of ticket aggregator BookMyShow, where theatres are still being added, also shows that only multiplexes have a hiked ticket rate for Yuva, with seats going at Rs 280-500 depending on the chosen class. This would be in keeping with the festive weekend and should reduce on weekdays. Single-screen tickets are largely in the Rs 100-200 range only.

When the promotions of Yuva had begun, there was a buzz that there would be premiere shows on March 28, which, Santhosh later said they decided against. Some netizens believe that the team came to that decision to avoid any negative trend about the film, considering that there is on ongoing online tussle between fans of the Doddmane and those of Kannada superstar Darshan. A quick look at social media is proof of the negativity that is levelled against the debutant every time a new element from the film is released.

Three hours into advance bookings opening, and most of the main single-screen theatres in Bengaluru beginning with 10.30 am shows, it looks like fans have to be satisfied with that.
