Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas
Bollywood-turned-Hollywood sensation Priyanka Chopra Jonas announced the arrival of her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, with husband Nick Jonas via surrogacy in January this year. The couple tied the knot in 2018 in a lavish wedding in Jaipur.
Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough
In November 2021, Preity Zinta announced that she and husband Gene Goodenough had become parents to twins, Gia and Jai, via surrogacy. The couple tied the knot in February 2016 and welcomed their children five years later.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra
Shilpa Shetty chose surrogacy for her second child, daughter Samisha, who was born in February 2020. The actor revealed that surrogacy was the last option after the couple tried, but were unable to conceive for five years. Her son, Viaan, is seven years older than Samisha.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan
The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan was among the first few celebrities to opt for surrogacy, which created quite a buzz in tinsel town at the time. Shah Rukh and wife Gauri welcomed son AbRam in May 2013. They were already parents to Aryan and Suhana.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao
Aamir Khan and his then-wife Kiran Rao opted for surrogacy for their first child. Their son Azad Rao Khan was born in December 2011. The couple tied the knot in December 2005 and announced their separation in 2021.
It came as a surprise to everyone when filmmaker Karan Johar announced the arrival of his twins, Yash and Roohi, via surrogacy in February 2017. Fifty-year-old Karan is a single father to his twins.
Siblings Tusshar Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor opt separately for surrogacy
Actor Tusshar Kapoor announced the arrival of his first child, Laksshay, in June 2016 via surrogacy. His filmmaker-producer sister, Ekta Kapoor, followed in his footsteps and welcomed her first child, Ravie, via surrogacy in January 2021.
