Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has often been in the spotlight on social media, particularly during Team India's matches in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023. However, recent events have shifted the conversation to less favourable topics.

In a recent Instagram story, Sara hinted at individuals impersonating her on X (formerly Twitter), clarifying that she doesn't have an account on that social media platform. Additionally, she expressed concern about encountering 'deepfake' images of herself circulating on social media.

In a detailed post, Sara expressed serious concerns about accounts mimicking her on social media. Tagging Twitter on her Instagram story, she wrote: "Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality," Sara wrote in a statement.

"A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have obviously been created with the intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them."

"Entertainment should never come at the expense of the truth. Let's encourage communication that's based on trust and reality," she concluded.

Sara's Instagram story has quickly gained widespread attention on social media. Initially, Sara opted to remove her Instagram story. However, she later reposted it with certain modifications.

The surge in deepfake incidents has emerged as a concerning issue, affecting not just the general public but also causing distress for celebrities in the online sphere. A recent 'deepfake video' featuring Bollywood actress Rashmika Mandana sparked a considerable uproar on social media.
