India Women are set to face off against the Netherlands Women in the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2024 final in Muscat, Oman, scheduled for Saturday, January 27. The Dutch team secured their spot in the final by defeating Poland, while India advanced after overcoming South Africa in the semi-finals.

About India's semi-final clash:

In a thrilling semi-final encounter, India found themselves trailing twice in the first half but ultimately secured a commanding 6-3 victory against South Africa. Despite a strong start from the South African team, the first half ended with both sides level at 2-2. However, South Africa faltered in the second half as India stepped up their game, scoring four goals in just five minutes.

Akshata Abaso Dhekale (7th minute), Mariana Kujur (11th), Mumtaz Khan (21st), Rutuja Dadaso Pisal (23rd), Jyoti Chhatri (25th), and Ajima Kujur (26th) were the goal scorers for India in the semifinal on Friday night. On the other hand, Teshawn De La Rey (5th), captain Toni Marks (8th), and Dirkie Chamberlain (29th) found the net for South Africa.

In the first semifinal, the Netherlands rallied from behind to defeat a spirited Poland 3-1. Despite facing their first deficit of the tournament, the Dutch team responded admirably to secure the victory.

In the Challenger Trophy final, contested by the eight teams that did not reach the quarterfinals, Namibia is set to face off against the USA.
