Not 2 or 3 but the Game Of Thrones franchise is about to get 7 spin-offs in the next few years and there is more in the pipeline.

All Game Of Thrones Spin-offs In The Making

The world of Game Of Thrones is growing, and exponentially if you have tracked all the updates about it. The show that ended with eight seasons in 2019 was a hit and well-acclaimed one. But while we thought that was the final goodbye and we might have to live with it, HBO decided and converted it into a franchise. Then came House Of The Dragon. A show about the Targaryens that took us centuries back into the history of Westeros and showed us the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen. It is up for a second season this year, and that is not where it all stops, mind you. There is much more than we can even think.

Over the past couple of days, we have heard about a scrapped spin-off that was first greenlit and was then canceled after the pilot was shot. The internet witnessed the leaked glimpses from the pilot of the canceled spin-off titled Game Of Thrones: Bloodmoon. Then came the news that the makers have now greenlit another spinoff and one that will have the storyline of Aegon’s Conquest. The entire week was dominated by the news from Westeros, and we are of course not complaining.

But while these reports have been far from one another, all of us haven’t kept the count. If we now compile all the spinoffs from the world of Game Of Thrones, there are around 7 in various stages of development, and this number is exclusive of the Bloodmoon series that was scrapped. Below is the list of all 7 spin-offs.

House Of The Dragon Season 2

Set 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, the show told the story of the house Targaryen at their prime and what led to the Dance Of The Dragons. Right now the world is gearing up for the second season, and the first look for the fame was released recently on the internet. No confirmation about the release date is out yet, but the show will hit the streaming sometime in 2024 considering it has already been delayed due to the Hollywood Strikes.

Untitled Jon Snow Spinoff

The world wasn’t prepared when they realized that Game Of Thrones season 8 wasn’t the last of Kit Harington as Jon Snow we got to see. The actor will be returning to play the part for a standalone show that was tentatively titled Snow. There are no plot details about this one out yet. Considering that Kit continues to play Jon, it may take us into the future of the character where he accepts the punishment and goes beyond the wall.

Nine Voyages (animated Corlys Velaryon spinoff)

Ever since we met Lord Corlys Velaryon, played by Steve Toussaint in House Of The Dragon, we knew this man had much more than what meets the eye. The character is all set to have a standalone spin-off that will be titled Nine Voyages. Called the Sea Snake, Corlys will be at the center of it. Developed by Rome creator Bruno Heller, the show was first supposed to be a live-action series but due to budget constraints, it was then converted into an animated series. George RR Martin himself had confirmed this. No release date is attached to it at the moment.

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

Warner Bros announced that they are moving ahead with another George RR Martin book adaptation titled A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight at the moment. The official logline as per Variety read, “A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naive but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

The Golden Empire (animated Yi-Ti spinoff)

Taking cues from Imperial China, George RR Martin made a fantasy world that was briefly mentioned in the Song Of Ice And Fire. The Yi-Ti series is an animated spinoff to Game Of Thrones just like the Nine Voyages. The last update came from the author himself who said that the script for the same was moving at a good pace.

10,000 Ships (Princess Nymeria spinoff)

The most interesting of them all at this moment considering how wide lands it scales, 10,000 Ships will have Warrior Queen Princess Nymeria and the surviving Rhoynars who traveled to Dorne from Essos after they were defeated by Valyrian and their dragons. The show will be set 1,000 years before the events of Game Of Thrones.

Aegon’s Conquest

A direct prequel to House Of The Dragon, the show will follow Aegon Targaryen who was an invader who ruled Westeros with his sister wives Rhaenys and Visenya. The Batman Part ll co-writer Mattson Tomlin has been hired to shape the show. There are no confirmed details about this one yet as the news of this in the making is still a rumor.
