Ahead of Prince and Family's OTT release, here's how much Dileep's latest Malayalam film made in theatres

Malayalam film, Prince and Family, was Dileep's most recent box office success following a string of films that had little impact on viewers and his fans. Word-of-mouth publicity helped the debutante Binto Stephen's Malayalam film largely, which received an enthusiastic response by the family audience. On June 20, Dileep's well-liked Malayalam movie will make its much awaited OTT debut on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Meanwhile, this is the total revenue generated by Prince and Family during its theatrical run.

Prince and Family final box office figures

Alongside Asif Ali's Sarkeet and Sharaf U Dheen's Padakkalam, the Dileep film debuted in cinemas in May. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, this family entertainer's total global box-office revenue came to over Rs 25 crore.

The website shows that the film's revenue figures in India were Rs 17 crore, while its overseas earnings totalled Rs 6.6 crore. It is said to be the actor's only highest-grossing film in box office, after the socio-political thriller Ramaleela in 2017. In this sense, Prince and Family could be regarded as the actor's successful return. Before its OTT release, the Malayalam movie was in theatres for more than 40 days. Padakkalam began streaming on JioHotstar recently. Meanwhile, Sarkeet is expected make its OTT debut soon.

Prince and Family's plot and cast

Prince Chakkalakkal, the film's protagonist, is unmarried and the only provider for his family, including his grownup and unemployed brothers. He struggles to find his soul mate, which makes him feel lonely. But Prince's and his loved ones' life are abruptly turned upside down by a proposal from a young social media influencer. He learns the adverse effects of social media in a harsh way.

In addition to Dileep, important parts are played by Siddique, Raniya, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Johny Antony, and Manju Pillai. Malayalee From India-fame Sharis Mohammed has penned the screenplay for Prince and Family, which will also be streaming on ZEE5 in Tamil. The movie was produced by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames label.
