Speaking to Free Press Journal, Sumit Gahlawat noted that it's normal to have different opinions, but he wants his acting efforts to be highlighted in the conversation as well. He said, "As an actor, I feel a little bad that talks about actors and acting is happening less. A lot of hard work has been put in, so it feels better when someone talks about acting."
Sumit further added that everyone has the right to speak. "I also say many things, which maybe someone else doesn't like. As an actor, that seems a bit bad, but otherwise, whatever people want to say, they can," he said.

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond follows three Hindu women, an aspiring scholar, an athlete and a dancer, whose lives turn upside down after they are allegedly trapped in fraudulent marriages and coerced religious conversions. Featuring Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha, the spiritual sequel to the 2023 film, The Kerala Story widens its lens beyond Kerala to depict similar narratives unfolding across various Indian states.
The film focuses on the alleged, organised conversion and indoctrination of women, exploring the loss of freedom, the weaponisation of love, and the consequences of "love jihad" conspiracies. It is positioned as a sequel to the 2023 film The Kerala Story, which continues the narrative of extremist threats and the grooming of young women.
The film is directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
