The ninth season of Tamil reality television show Bigg Boss Tamil, is all set to make its grand entry soon. Actor Vijay Sethupathy who hosted the last season, will be returning to reprise his role as anchor for the upcoming season as well.

Bigg Boss Tamil, which has gone steady for eight seasons so far, is going to get renewed for its ninth season. JioHotstar, which is the streaming partner of the show, is set to launch the upcoming season, with the teaser set to be unveiled soon. As per reports, the show is set to begin on October 5. The teaser of the show will be released soon by the makers.

Bigg Boss Tamil season 9 will be hosted by actor Vijay Sethupathi. The actor had already hosted the last season of the show. It is to be noted that the first seven seasons were hosted by actor and politician Kamal Haasan. He had later stepped down citing professional commitments and his political career, and was replaced by Vijay Sethupathi. An adaptation of international reality game show Bigg Brother, Bigg Boss Tamil will have contestants (who are mostly celebrities) enter a house and co-exist with each other amid challenges for 100 days. During the course of time, the contestants are pitted against each other, given hurdles and emotional challenges to endure and come out winning. One contestant gets evicted every week and the last one remaining wins through public voting. Each season is expected to level up the challenge. The last season concluded earlier this year, and had orator and anchor Muthukumaran take the title sash.
