Coolie music director Anirudh Ravichander says ‘hype has been too much’; adds ‘you can expect a super and intelligent film’

August is here, and that means it’s officially the Coolie month. Sun Pictures is leaving no stone unturned to create hype for the Rajinikanth-starrer, which is all set to be released on August 14. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander. The latter talks about what to expect from Coolie.

In a chat with Suryan FM, Anirudh Ravichander who is scoring for Coolie, spoke about the amount of hype garnered by the film. "I think to be very honest, the hype has been too much. It is because the first-time combination of Thalaivar (Rajinikanth) and Loki (Lokesh Kanagaraj) and it is Sun Pictures production. Whatever films I and Loki did, we got good response music wise, while Thalaivar and my combination too is the same. Moreover, this star cast is something not every film gets," Anirudh said.

The composer also said only three songs, and back shots of the star ensemble have been released, given the amount of hype Coolie is enjoying at present, without the teaser and trailer release yet. "What you can expect is a super and intelligent film. Loki's beautiful screenplay with all these legends is what you can expect."

Besides Rajinikanth, Coolie also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Aamir Khan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan and Pooja Hegde in a dance appearance. The action thriller which is not part of LCU, is slated for a theatrical release on August 14, and will be clashing with Hindi spy action thriller War 2 featuring Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR, and Kiara Advani. That being said, the makers of Coolie are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. The trailer of Coolie is expected to be out on August 2, in an event held in Chennai. Actors including Rajinikanth and others are expected to take part in the event.
