DC glimpse reveals a dark, dialogue-free take on Devadas story, marking Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy

We had earlier reported that director Lokesh Kanagaraj will be making his acting debut in a Tamil film titled DC. The makers, have now released the glimpse from the film for the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The movie is eyeing for summer 2026 release.

DC: What does glimpse of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film shows?

DC is an upcoming Tamil film starring Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy. The glimpse of the film was released by the makers on social media on Saturday.

A take on the age-old romance tale of Devadas, Parvathy and Chandramukhi, the characters of DC are also named similarly. Sanjana will be playing Parvathy, while Wamiqa Gabbi is Chandra and Lokesh Kanagaraj plays Devadas. With no dialogues, but only background score to drive the glimpse, we see some intense moments. After the trio are introduced, we see something brewing amid them but their equations remain a mystery. Cigarettes, bloodshed, and violence are not the only common elements, for DC promises something more powerful as it wishes a 'bloody Valentine'.

DC: What do we know about the film so far?

DC is an upcoming romantic action-drama film, which will be written and directed by filmmaker Arun Matheswaran. He has already made films like Rocky, Saani Kaayidham and Captain Miller before. The upcoming film DC marks the acting debut of Lokesh Kanagaraj, who last directed Coolie. Wamiqa Gabbi plays the female lead, with Anirudh Ravichander set to score the music. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, who appeared in films like Thug Life and Lubber Pandhu, will also star in the film.

On the technical front, the additional screenplay is penned by Arun Ranjan and Arun Matheswaran is on the dialogues along with Franklin Jacob. Mukesh as cinematographer and GK Prasanna is editor. DC is set to release in sometime in summer 2026. A release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
