Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster movie Dhurandhar has been smashing box office records almost on a daily basis. The much-talked-about spy action thriller is the highest-grossing film of 2025, beating the likes of Kantara Chapter 1 and Chhaava. Dhurandhar has also made it to Letterboxd’s top 10 highest-rated action/adventure films of 2025, but lags behind south films of Bison Kaalamaadan and Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra both of which are led by young actors

Which films beat Dhurandhar on Letterboxd’s top 10 list

The 2025 Hindi film, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, is is in the eight spot of Letterboxd’s top 10 highest-rated action/adventure films of the past year. Only three Indian films made it to the list with Tamil film Bison Kalmadan and Malayalam blockbuster movie Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra. While Bison is in the fifth spot on the list, Lokah is in the seventh position ahead of Dhurandhar.

The Indian films made it to the list, which is led by Leonardo DiCaprio’s thriller film One Battle After Another, which is garnering much attention. Michael B. Jordan’s horror film Sinners is in the second spot, followed by James Gunn’s superhero film Superman, and live-action film How To Train Your Dragon. Brad Pitt’s sports drama F1 is at the sixth place, while James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash is in the ninth spot with Reflection in Dead Diamond taking the last spot.

What is Dhurandhar about

Dhurandhar is a spy action thriller film, which revolves around Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazhari who is recruited in a high-stakes mission and infiltrates terrorist groups across the border. Filmmaker Aditya Dhar helms the film, which opened to mixed reviews but has been one of the biggest crowd pullers at the cinemas in recent years.

Dhurandhar has already become the top-grossing Indian film of all-time in a single language, with an India net collection of around Rs 831 crore. Apart from Ranveer Singh in the lead role, the action-packed film also features actors Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.

On the other hand, Bison is a sports drama, starring Dhruv Vikram as a kabaddi player who overcomes various challenges as he chases his dreams. The Tamil film is helmed by the acclaimed director Mari Selvaraj. Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, directed by Dominic Arun, narrates the tale of a folklore character, reimagined as a superhero story. Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan leads Lokah, which also features Naslen.
