What's the plot of Guru Nanak Jahaz

Guru Nanak Jahaz takes viewers straight to 1914, chronicling the tragic Komagata Maru incident. The movie makes a bold attempt at depicting the story of 376 Sikh immigrants who dared to dream of a better future in Canada.  Things took a remorseful turn when the immigrants were prohibited from entering Canada and were asked to return. The humiliation did not end there as the Sikhs faced even brutal torture while returning to India.

Guru Nanak Jahaz not only portrays the historical facts and incidents, but also pays tribute to the brave Indians who stood up against injustice in a foreign land. Gurpreet Ghuggi plays Baba Gurdit Singh, a visionary Sikh businessman, who leads the journey. Tarsem Jassar plays Mewa Singh Lopoke, a revolutionary, who is deeply affected by the racism in Canada.

Meanwhile, Harsharan Singh plays Bhag Singh, who is Mewa Singh’s brother and has a pivotal part in the journey. Balwinder Bullet plays as one of the passengers on the ship, who stands firmly beside Baba Gurdit Singh in a gritty role.
