Mammootty on Mohanlal attempting sync sound in Hridayapoorvam

Hridayapoorvam is a 2025 Malayalam film, directed by veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, starring Mohanlal in the lead role. In a recent interview with Mathrubhumi News, Sathyan Anthikad opened up about what Mammootty had to say about Mohanlal attempting sync sound for the first time in Hridayapoorvam.

“Mammootty told me ‘Avanu ithu parichayam ilathatu ale, ini ithu thane venam enu paranjeku. Athinte gunam manasilakum, (He is not familiar with this, right? Tell him to continue with this. He will understand the benefits),” Sathyan Anthikad recounted Mammootty’s words.

Notably, Mammootty has been vocal about the benefits of sync sound, stating that it is hard to recreate the voice modulations during performance, and has already mastered the format. On the other hand, Mohanlal is simply magical during dubbing, according to Sathyan Anthikad, who said that he only told the actor about Hridayapoorvam using sync sound when he turned up for the shoot. Mohanlal became quite the pro as the shoot progressed, the director added.

State Award-winning Anil Radhakrishnan is the sound engineer for Hridayapoorvam and Mohanlal also had a good rapport with him on the sets.

Hridayapoorvam releases in theatres on August 28, 2025, along with Kalyani Priyadarshan’s superhero film Lokah.

Actor Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, and Sangita Madhavan Nair play other key roles in the film, along with Siddique, Lalu Alex and Janardhanan.

On the other hand, Mammootty has been away from the limelight, but is set to return to his acting commitments this month. Mammootty does not have any Onam releases this year.
