Shivarajkumar's cameo is quite powerful, say netizens

Kannada star Shivarajkumar has a new legion of fans starting today. Audiences who’ve seen Superstar Rajinikanth’s film Jailer have been raving about how good namma Shivanna’s short but effective cameo is in the overall scheme of things. One netizen even went to the extent of saying that he never thought any actor could overshadow Rajinikanth, but Shivanna’s outing in the pre-climax absolutely dominated the Superstar. “I think I have become a Shivanna fan,” he added.

Audiences, especially outside of Karnataka, are going ga-ga over Shivanna’s performance, with several from Kerala and Tamil Nadu stating that the theatres they were in “erupted” when the Kannada star made his onscreen entry . “Shivanna steals the scene,” exclaimed another fan. Although the actor’s look had ‘Mufti-vibes’, netizens felt that his swag was ‘next level’, with some even saying that director Nelson managed to hype up the Century Star onscreen far more than Kannada filmmakers have been able to do so far. “Thanks for showing our superstar in such wonderful mass scenes,” said another.

Speaking about his role in the film, Shivarajkumar had earlier said, “"It's a small role, I come in for about 10-11 minutes in the film (Jailer). In those 11 minutes, I literally felt like I was in heaven while shooting, watching Rajinikanth being so active at his age.”

The Jailer cameo comes at a perfect time for the Century Star, whose film, the heist thriller Ghost, is set to release in October during the Dasara festivities. The makers are looking at releasing Ghost in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi for sure, and maybe even Malayalam depending on demand, and this abundant flow of love for Shivanna should come as a confidence boost to them to take the film across the country.

Besides Jailer, another film that Shivarajkumar is closely associated with is Dhanush’s Captain Miller, in which the Hattrick Hero plays the latter’s brother.
