Japan: Karthi is a hero, a comedian and a villain in this never-before-seen quirky, mysterious character

Makers of Japan have now unveiled its intriguing promo video on the occasion of Karthi's birthday. Dulquer Salmaan, STR, Rishab Shetty and Vijay Deverakonda have released the videos in different languages from their social media pages. The one-minute video provides a glimpse into the actor's character without revealing much about the plot.

It begins with a man talking to a church priest about the character of Japan, the role Karthi essays in the movie. He addresses him as a hero and says that Japan is one of the noblest creations of God. However, a veteran businessman who addresses Japan as boss refers to him as a comedian.

In another instance, someone describes Japan as a dirty villain. Karthi essays a quirky, unpredictable character who has multiple shades for the first time in his career. His flashy costumes, laid-back attitude and unique hairstyle have ample elements that are required to leave his fans elated.

Going by the promo video, Japan is likely to be a thriller flick which revolves around a guy who is after a deadly criminal. The makers have also announced that the film will be a Diwali release. The exact date is expected to be informed later.

It looks like this Diwali, too, will witness a box office clash between movies of Karthi and Sivakarthikeyan. The latter's sci-fi project Ayalaan is gearing up for a release for the festival. Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X is another outing which is eyeing the festival.

Japan is Karthi's second outing this year after Ponniyin Selvan 2. Last year, the actor had three releases - Viruman, Ponniyin Selvan 1 and Sardar. Kaithi 2 is the next outing the actor currently has in his kitty.
