Though he had directed several successful films, it was the 2013-released Drishyam that made Jeethu Joseph a force to reckon with and he became popular beyond Malayalam cinema. The third part of Mohanlal-led Drishyam is set to start rolling in October, but there are already questions about a fourth part of the hugely popular thriller film series. Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph recently spoke about how the first Drishyam film led to the second and third parts, and whether there will be a fourth installment.

Popular Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph is the brain behind the Drishyam films, starring Mohanlal, which have been remade in several other languages. Talking about the future of the franchise during the recent Manorama News Conclave, Jeethu said, "I don’t know if there will be a fourth part. If you ask whether there are possibilities to go from third to fourth, there could be. But I have not spotted those."

"But even when Drishyam 2 was completed, I did not crack the possibilities for part 3. When I was asked whether there is a possibility, I said that if 3 happens and it ended in a certain way, it would be good. Only when such a possibility came up, I locked it," he added.

While Drishyam released in 2013, the sequel came only in 2021 with the filmmaker saying that it took him five years to come up with a worthy story. And now four years later, the third part is set to go on floors.

He also remarked that he doesn’t believe that Drishyam 3 is a thriller. Earlier, actress Ansiba who played Anju in the film also remarked that third part is a pakka family entertainer.
