Like Criminal Justice, Special Ops, and many other series, Mirzapur is one of the most-loved series among fans. They wait for new seasons every year. When the makers announced that an adaptation would be made of the Mirzapur series, fans couldn't wait to get more updates. Now, a new report mentioned that Mirzapur The Film has onboarded Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan.

Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan join Mirzapur The Film

As per Hindustan Times, Jitendra Kumar, known for his Sachiv Ji role in Panchayat and Ravi Kishan have joined the cast of Mirzapur The Film. Although the details of their respective roles are still being kept under wraps, it will be interesting to see whether they play any familiar characters from the series or if the makers introduce any new characters in the film.

A close informed the portal, “Jitendra and Ravi Kishan have joined the cast of the film. The mahurat puja of the film took place on Thursday and they were present in the celebrations. Their characters are being kept as a big surprise for the fans."

The source further revealed that the look tests and reading sessions of the cast have already started and will continue for the next few days. Jitendra and Ravi have also joined the pre-production work. The film will go on floors next month. Meanwhile, we saw Jitendra assisting with some paperwork related to Kaleen Bhaiya's death in Mirzapur 3 series.

In the film, whether Jitendra will reprise his Sachiv Ji role or not, we will have to wait. On the other hand, Ravi won hearts with his police role in Laapataa Ladies. So who knows, maybe he will play the role of a cop in Mirzapur The Film. However, both Jitendra and Ravi are yet to confirm the news.

Mirzapur: The Film is a theatrical spin-off of the popular web series Mirzapur. It is expected to be released in 2026. It will feature the original cast members, including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu, with a storyline that takes the audience back in time. Fans can also expect Shweta Tripathi's Golu in the film. The film is created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh.

In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ali Fazal revealed, “We are very excited. It is the OG cast and we are going at the back of the table. Back in time, I suppose. It has to be back in time because there are like some dead people walking."

Meanwhile, Mirzapur 1, 2, and 3 are streaming on Prime Video, which is available to the existing OTTplay Premium users.
