Actor Dulquer Salmaan, whose recent film Kaantha, is currently running in theatres, had been promoting the period drama for a few days now. The film hit theatres on Friday, and had opened to mixed reviews upon its release. Dulquer, who plays the lead role, also produced Kaantha along with fellow actor Dulquer Salmaan. Recently, during one of the promotional events, Dulquer while interacting with college students, recalled the time when he cried along with his father Mammootty. But the incident was funny.

For the YouTube channel Honest Townhall in which stars interact with a bunch of students and answer their questions, Dulquer Salmaan graced the latest episode, on the sidelines of promoting Kaantha.

One of the students asked about how men who cry are seen to be weak. Defying the statement, Dulquer said during his low times, he had cried. He also recalled the time when he cried along with his father and actor Mammootty after watching a film. "It does not make me less of a man. My father and I have cried together watching Lion King. When Mufasa cried, we cried. I cry for every movie. I don't subscribe to theory of men and women to be in certain way,” he said.

Dulquer Salmaan on collaborating with Mammootty:

Dulquer Salmaan had recently said that the possibilities of him collaborating with his father onscreen, might only come through Lokah franchise. It is to be noted that Mammootty had lent his voice only for a character in the first part Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.

Dulquer who also produced the film, had said, “I am proud that even as I am acting for 14 years, and when he says a yes, I have earned it. He is not someone to say yes because I am his son.” However, the actor did not divulge further details.
