Kaattaan: Starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, Milind Soman also appears in the series which is set to stream in March soon in multiple languages

We had earlier reported that actor Vijay Sethupathi will be headlining a Tamil web series titled Kaattaan. The series is set to stream very soon this month, and the makers had released the trailer of Kaattaan recently on social media. Kaattaan comes from filmmaker Manikandan of Kadaisi Vivasayi and Kaaka Muttai fame, with high expectations on the series.

In the trailer, we see Vijay Sethupathi's severed head, and the detailing is that it is smiling. Throughout the trailer, we see the police in search of the body. How did it happen and who did it? There is a certain mystery behind the severed head, and the series is expected to give an answer in its own philosophical way.
In the series trailer, we also see Vijay Sethupathi a man full of life. He is shown as a master of all crafts. A watch mechanic, ace mahout, before he is taken by a man from Bombay. The man also has some brief romantic moments, and through the series there is some mystery lurking about who he is, and what clue he has left behind to solve the mystery of his head.
Director Manikandan is known for making films that have deeper meanings. In Kaattaan too, the trailer teases something more than just a rural action drama. How a man who wielding a machete ends up being just a severed smiling head? Kaattaan is expected to give an answer to this, in addition to some deeper layers that Manikandan is expected to unravel through his writing.
Kaattaan series is set to stream on JioHotstar on March 27 in various languages. The series will release in multiple languages apart from his original Tamil version, including in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali.
It is after a long time Manikandan is back to direction given his last release was in 2022. Kaattaan marks Vijay Sethupathi's third collaboration with Manikandan after Aandavan Kattalai and Kadaisi Vivasayi both of which are available on OTTplay Premium. B Ajithkumar has also co-directed Kaattaan.
