Film buffs were surprised when Arya teamed up with director Muthaiya for Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam. The first look poster was unveiled on the star's birthday and the team released its teaser a few weeks ago. Going by the promo video, the movie looks like another rural drama which the director is known for.

Siddhi Idnani of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu fame is playing the female lead in the project which stars Prabu, Bhagyaraj, Singampuli and Naren among others. Zee Studios and Drumsticks Productions have bankrolled the film which has music composed by GV Prakash.

The makers are yet to announce its release date, though it is almost confirmed that the movie will hit the screens this year. It's been a while since Arya has been part of a full-fledged rural drama and movie buffs are eager to see him in a rugged avatar.

R Velraj has cranked the camera for Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam which has action scenes choreographed by Anl Arasu. Baba Baskar, Shobi, Sandy, Jani, Sheriff and Sathish have composed dance moves in the film which revolves around the life of a naïve youngster who takes on a few criminals owing to an unexpected circumstance.

We have now learnt that Zee5 has bagged the digital rights of the project. The movie is expected to drop on the platform after a month of its theatrical release. Zee Tamil has acquired its satellite rights as well. The OTT rights of Arya's last outing Captain was also bagged by Zee5.

Muthaiya's previous outing was Karthi-starrer Viruman which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film, which was also a rural drama, attained hit status at the box office despite opening to below average reviews from critics.
