Kiccha47 is Mark: After playing the hot-headed cop Arjun Mahakshay only a year ago, he is now, Ajay Markanday, aka Mark. The Vijay Kartikeyaa directorial will be in theatres for Christmas 2025

In the last few days, the buzz on social media was that the title of Kiccha Sudeep’s next, which was tentatively called Kiccha47 so far, is Mark. Well, the buzz was correct and the makers have now officially confirmed it as the title of the Vijay Kartikeyaa directorial. After playing Arjun Mahakshay, aka Max , in their last collaboration, Sudeep is now Ajay Markanday, aka Mark.

The title reveal teaser also gave audiences an idea about Ajay Markanday’s characteristics; he’s Mad (maximum armored destruction), has Attitude (ascendant temperament that instils dignity and unbreakable determination), is Ruthless (relentless in pursuit, unbreakable in spirit, tenacious in battle, honour-bound by code, loyal to the cause, etc. and, last, but not the least, a King (keeper of honour, instinctive leader, noble in spirit and guardian of justice).
According to sources, the film that is now called Mark was meant to be Max 2, but with Sudeep unlikely to collaborate with producer Kalaipulli S Thanu again (the duo allegedly had a falling out after the making of Max over the release plan of the film), it was rebranded. Sudeep plays a cop yet again in the film, going by the title reveal.
Mark, meanwhile, will be in theatres for Christmas 2025, as has been officially announced with the title teaser. In a media briefing on September 1, a day ahead of his birthday, Sudeep had clarified why he and his team are hell-bent on having the film in theatres by the end of the year. Last year, Max had released 5 days after Upendra’s UI and went on to become a massive hit. The actor is hoping for a repeat this year too, even though he will be in theatres within weeks of Darshan’s The Devil, the third instalment of the Avatar franchise and a potential clash with Arjun Janya’s directorial debut 45.
