Kuberaa box office collection day 2: Dhanush’s film lives up to its title; sees a steady jump in earnings

Kuberaa, the recently released Indian film starring actor Dhanush in the lead role, has been receiving good response. We had earlier reported that the film made a decent start with Rs 13 crore on day one in India in all languages. So far, Kuberaa has seen a massive jump with total earnings standing at Rs 35 crore, including Rs 2.5 crore (early estimate from Sunday).

Dhanush, who has already won two National Film Awards for acting, is being praised for his performance in Kuberaa as a beggar, with fans anticipating that the actor will win his third award soon. While we may have to wait to know that result, it looks like Kuberaa is being blessed with good financial returns at the box office.

As per Sacnilk report, Kuberaa has minted Rs 35 crore nearly so far as of Sunday morning. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, majority of earnings come from the Telugu version. Kuberaa released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, with pan-Indian cast. Actors Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh also play important roles in the film. With the weekend yet to be over, one can expect that Kuberaa might see more collection coming. Dhanush’s highest grossing film so far is his Tamil film Raayan which was directed by himself.

What is Kuberaa all about?

Kuberaa a social drama thriller in which a rich businessman hires a former CBCID cop to carry out his money laundering scam. The cop in turns chooses four beggars to use them as benamis to transfer the money. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The film is produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations.

The post-theatrical streaming rights of Kuberaa have been bought by Prime Video. An OTT release date is yet to be announced by the makers. Kuberaa is Dhanush’s second Telugu film after Sir directed by Venky Atluri.
