Director Vishnu Mohan has been hogging headlines ever since superstar Mohanlal announced that the young filmmaker would be directing his next film, L367. Vishnu Mohan, the director of Unni Mukundan-starrer Meppadiyan, would be directing Mohanlal in the upcoming film, tentatively titled L367. In a recent interview with Cinema Express, Vishnu Mohan revealed that he was to direct a film with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead after his 2024 film Kadha Innuvare. But the Empuraan director urged him to prioritise the Mohanlal-led film.

“When I told Prithvi about this Lalettan project, he urged me to take it up immediately and not lose the opportunity," Vishnu Mohan was quoted as saying by Cinema Express.

Vishnu further added that he would be directing the Prithviraj film after both their commitments are completed.

What is L367 about

The upcoming film L367 is based on several true incidents, Vishnu said, adding that it would be an emotional thriller. There have been speculations that it is based on Operation Ganga, the central government’s mission to rescue the Indians from the neighbouring countries of Ukraine during the war in 2022.

Mohanlal is currently working on L366, which is helmed by Thudarum director Tharun Moorthy. The film is much anticipated as Thudarum was hailed by fans for featuring the vintage Lalettan. Three-film-old Tharun Moorthy has also been credited with creating well-crafted movies.

On the other hand, Mohanlal’s most-awaited upcoming release is Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph, hitting theatres on April 2. He is also part of Mammootty-starrer Patriot which also features Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban. Patriot will hit theatres on April 23.
