Latest Kannada OTT releases (October 13 – October 19) - Here is the list of what you can stream on various digital platforms or watch in theatres this week.

Elumale and Andondittu Kaala on OTT this week

Yet another week with no major Kannada theatrical releases, what with Kantara Chapter 1 still going strong at the box office. Ticket aggregator sites list two films – Timepass and Premigala Gamanakke – as potential arrivals on October 17, but bookings for both are yet to open and it remains to be seen how many screens/shows they get, given that there are multiple Tamil and Telugu films hitting theatres, like Bison, Dude, Diesel and Telusu Kada, for instance.

On OTT, it is a different story, in time for the Deepavali festivities, there’s not one, but two Kannada original films coming audience’s way. One was Ek Love Ya fame Raanna’s sophomore film, which had received positive reviews, while the other is a Vinay Rajkumar starrer that flew under the radar and may just find its audience on OTT.

Elumale

A film by a debutant director, backed by another popular filmmaker, will definitely have some meat to it. That was the narrative around Elumale, directed by Punit Rangaswamy and produced by Tharun Sudhir. The film marked the sophomore outing of Raanna, actress Rakshitha’s brother, and introduced Mahanati fame Priyanka Achar as leading lady.

Raanna and Priyanka played a couple that seems star crossed, when he gets caught up in a sinister deal orchestrated by cops, as she makes her way to him, having run away from her family. Will the lovers meet and find their happily-ever-after? The film, which has music by D Imman, also stars Kishore, Rakesh Maiya, TS Nagabharana, Jagapathi Babu, among others.

Andondittu Kaala

Vinay Rajkumar is often praised for his choice of scripts, even if the films don’t necessarily pan out at the box office. Andondittu Kaala, which had been in the making for a while, finally found its day in theatres, but the release was severely limited and the film went completely unnoticed. Vinay played an aspiring filmmaker in the film, which explored the hardships faced by those with dreams of striking rich in cinema. The film also starred Aditi Prabhudeva, Nisha Ravikrishnan, Aruna Balraj, Mohan Juneja, among others.
