We had earlier reported that JioHotstar had unveiled its new southern content slate which includes a wide variety of series and films. One of them is LBW- Love Beyond Wicket, a cricket-based web series. Starring Vikranth in the lead role, the streamer has now announced its release date along with the trailer. LBW will soon be streaming via OTTplay Premium as well.

The trailer of JioHotstar’s upcoming web series LBW- Love Beyond Wicket was released by the makers on Wednesday. The trailer begins with Vikranth's character Rangan, a failed cricketer who is now a coach. As he comes to meet a team he is supposed to train, we come to know how the coach is patient and understanding. Eventually, he experiences some stiffness from his students and the team is on the verge of failure, but that is when match catches fire and advices one of his bowlers to do well. The game soon turns topsy turvy and they begin to win. Eventually they win, but it creates a rift among the team. But that one bowler turns up, and we see a camaraderie forming between the teacher and players.

LBW OTT release date:

LBW is set to release on JioHotstar on January 1. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium also will be able to watch it soon. LBW will be a long-running series, with four episodes to drop weekly, like other Hotstar specials like Heart Beat, Police Police, and The Office. Vikranth will be making his OTT debut with LBW and plays the role of coach, with the supporting cast including Niyathi, Akshatha, Vishwa Mithran, Nikhil Nair and others.

LBW is part of the southern content slate unveiled by JioHotstar recently. The platform has a line-up of projects in Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil, including Nivin Pauly-starrer Pharma web series, Vijay Sethupathi’s Kaattan GV Prakash film Lucky and lot more.
