Drishyam

Drishyam is the film that literally put Jeethu Joseph on the map. Though the director had successful outings with My Boss, it was Drishyam that cemented his place as a master storyteller. For the 2013 Malayalam film, Jeethu Joseph joined hands with Mohanlal for the first time and it has been one of the most successful collaborations in Malayalam cinema. The film follows an ordinary man named Georgekutty, whose life is upended after a crime is committed at his home. With the police looming over the family, he will do whatever it takes to protect his family.

Memories

Before Drishyam, Jeethu Joseph proved that he can pull off a thriller with this Prithviraj Sukumaran film. Cop Sam Alex, who is now drowning his misery in alcohol after his losing his family, is at the centre of this film. The thriller tracks how things change Alex tasked with unravelling the mystery surrounding the disappearance of several young women. The film also stars S. P. Sreekumar, Meghana Raj, and Miya George

Neru

Unlike the Drishyam films, this Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph film is a courtroom drama with a strong emotional core. After being sexually assaulted, blind sculptor Sara makes a statue of the accused. Though he is arrested, the defence seeks to ‘undermine’ her evidence. Mohanlal appears as advocate Vijayamohan, who fights for Sara in the court. Anaswara Rahan’s moving performance as Sara, gripping courtroom scenes and Mohanlal are the biggest strengths of the movie which was lauded for its sensitive portrayal.

Aadhi

Young actor Pranav Mohanlal made his debut in a lead role with this action-packed thriller. Superstar Mohanlal’s son plays the titular role Aadhi, who is on the run after an influential person’s death. The fast-paced of the movie, and the action sequences, especially Pranav Mohanlal’s Parkour scenes, are the highlights of this movie.

My Boss

With My Boss, Jeethu Joseph proved that he could pull off comedy too quite effortlessly. Dileep plays Manu, who strikes up a deal with his boss to help her in return for a promotion. Mamta Mohandas plays the boss lady Priya, and the contrast between a typical Malayali man and urban woman is portrayed well in the movie. Despite the film’s uncanny resemblance to the American film The Proposal, My Boss remains popular for its humor and likeable characters.
