After the trailer and the first track, Humnava gained attention, the makers dropped another powerful anthem, Kali Shakti which is sung by the veteran singer, Usha Uthup.

On June 17, the makers of Maa released a new track, Kali Shakti. Sung by the veteran singer, Usha Uthup, the music video captures Kajol's fiery expression of rage, strength, and divine fury. She prays to Kali Maa as she goes all out to save her daughter from the evil spirit.
Her movements, drenched in vermilion and symbolizing the unstoppable power of Mother Kali, evoke devotion and the mother's will to go to any extent for her child. Meanwhile, Usha Uthup's commanding voice deepens the value of the song, echoing like a divine call.
Reacting to the music video, one fan said, "This song is pure devotion and divine energy! The power of Maa Kali is beautifully expressed — it gives goosebumps and strength at the same time. Jai Maa Kali!"

Maa is a mythological horror film starring Kajol, directed by Vishal Furia, where she plays a mother who becomes a fierce protector and channels her inner Goddess Kali to save her daughter from a demonic curse.
The film is set in a cursed village where women mysteriously disappear, and it explores themes of the brutality of motherhood, supernatural fiction, and religious rebellion. The cast also includes Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma, and Ronit Roy, who plays a local unveiling the town's dark history.
During an interview with Pinkvilla, Kajol was asked about the Maa sequel and also whether Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan have cameos in Maa. Addressing the cameos, Kajol said, "No, no. I wish you had given me this suggestion earlier. If you'd told me before our shoot, we might have filmed it."

She also said that it is too late and the film is about to release. When it was suggested that, if ever a cameo could be added in the sequel of Maa, Kajol said, "Absolutely. I hope you all like the film a lot, there will be a Maa 2."
Meanwhile, Maa is scheduled for theatrical release on June 27, 2025.
