Maaveeran: Makers announce an update on the release of Sivakarthikeyan's film in Tamil Nadu. Details inside

Amazon Prime Video has already bagged the movie's digital rights a while ago,

Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran, which was supposed to release on August 11, was preponed to July 14 recently after Rajinikanth's Jailer announced its release date on August 10. The Madonne Ashwin directorial marks his sophomore movie after Mandela, which won the National Award last year.

The title teaser of the action flick was unveiled a year ago. The makers are expected to release its teaser and other promo videos soon. Aditi Shankar plays the female lead in the bilingual project which has Mysskin, Sunil and Sarita among others essaying key roles in it. Mahaveerudu is the title makers have fixed for its Telugu version.

Arun Viswa has bankrolled Maaveeran under the banner Shanthi Talkies. The team had unveiled the first single a while ago composed by Bharath Shankar. Though makers roped in Anirudh to croon the peppy track, it didn't impress music lovers and others who were waiting for the song.

Vidhu Ayyanna and Philomin Raj have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the movie, the digital rights of which have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video a few months ago. There were reports of Siva and Madonne having creative differences a while ago, but the former quashed those as rumours.

The team has now come up with an announcement. They have revealed that Red Giant Movies will distribute the movie across Tamil Nadu. The leading production house had earlier distributed Siva's successful projects Doctor and Don in 2021 and 2022.

The star's fans hope that the luck will favour Maaveeran, too. Though there was news about a superhero element in the film, we'll have to wait until the movie hit screens next month.
