Mammootty and Naslen to team up in Khalid Rahman's next?

Khalid Rahman's upcoming film will star Mammootty in the lead, while the young star Naslen will be seen in a significant role, as per online trackers.

Malayalam megastar Mammootty, who is yet to make a public appearance after being away for medical treatment, is awaiting the release of Kalamkaval next. Amid this, latest reports claim that the megastar could be teaming up next with young actor Naslen. Rumour has it that director Khalid Rahman would be bringing the two actors for his upcoming film.

Mammootty, Naslen in Khalid Rahman's next?

Khalid Rahman, who last directed Alappuzha Gymkhana would once again join hands with its lead star Naslen for his next directorial. The upcoming collaboration will star Mammootty in the lead role, while Naslen will be seen in a significant role, as per online trackers. The film will also reportedly be backed by Mammootty, who had earlier collaborated with Khalid on Unda. Apart from the lead actors of Mammootty and Naslen, there is no update on the rest of the cast

Mammootty would resume his acting commitments next month by joining filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan’s ambitious project, which also stars Mohanlal in a full-length role. The megastar is expected to be back on set on October 3. The Khalid Rahman directorial would be Mammootty’s next film after the Mahesh Narayanan movie, which also features Kunchacko Boban and Fahadh Faasil.

Khalid had announced his next project on June 26 but did not divulge any more details of the cast, crew or even genre. Khalid's last direcotrial Alappuzha Gymkhana with Naslen in the lead was a sports comedy, and was the winner at the box office.

Mammootty’s upcoming release

Mammotty’s next big release is Kalamkaval, which also features Vinayakan in a lead role. Kalamkaval will see Mammootty in a negative role raising expectations among fans. The film, helmed by Jithin K Jose, is slated for an October release, but an exact date is yet to be announced.

On the other hand, Naslen was last seen in Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan. Though Mammootty is not shown in the film, he has lent his voice to the character Moothon, who will also feature in the subsequent installments of the five-part Lokah.
