Mathew Thomas on his friendship with Lokah actor Naslen: 'He is very excited for Nellikkampoyil Night Riders’

Mathew Thomas is all set for the release of his upcoming film Nellikkampoyil Night Riders, which just dropped its trailer. The young Malayalam actor has starred in several popular movies such as Thanneer Mathan Dinangal and Jo and Jo. Notably, these movies also featured another young Malayalam star, Naslen. Mathew Thomas recently talked about his friendship with Naslen, saying the Lokah actor is very excited about Nellikkampoyil Night Riders.

Mathew Thomas played the lead role in Thanneer Mathan Dinangal, which also marked the debut of Naslen, who has since quickly risen through the ranks. Though fan clubs pit the young actors against each other, Mathew said during the recent Pearle Maaney show that he shares a comfortable equation with Naslen.

“I don't know how to say this. We did Thaneer Mathan, Jo and Jo, Premalu and 18+. We did not plan for these movies together. It just happened. But it is wonderful. It is very comfortable to perform with him. Can tell him anything. Even he can tell me anything. We have a comfortable space. We are not bothered about what the other thinks,” the young actor said during the recent interview.

The Leo actor said that they are not constantly in touch over the phone but do ring up one another once in a while. While adding that he is very happy to have such a friend, Mathew says, “He is really excited about Night Riders and enquires about it."

Naslen entered the Rs 100 crore club with Premalu, which also featured Mathew Thomas in a brief, fun appearance. Naslen last starred in Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, the blockbuster hit film led by Kalyani Priyadarshan. The Dulquer Salmaan-produced film will land on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) soon, though a release date is yet to be announced.

On the other hand, Nellikkampoyil Night Riders, touted to be a horror comedy, will release in theatres on October 24, 2025. Helmed by Noufal Abdullah, the film also features Roshan Shanavas, Sarath Sabha and Meenakshi Unnikrishnan, among others.
