The title of Malayalam director Khalid Rahman’s next movie with megastar Mammootty has been revealed - Mattancherry Mafia! The upcoming movie will also feature actors Naslen K Gafoor and Asif Ali in key roles, promising that a banger of a film is on the cards.

What is Mammootty-Khalid Rahman movie title

Khalid Rahman has reunited with megastar Mammootty seven years after their last collaboration Unda. The title of Mammootty and Khalid Rahman’s upcoming movie was revealed at 6pm on March 20, 2026, as promised by the makers. Along with Mammootty, Mattancherry Mafia will also feature Naslen and Asif Ali in key roles.

The makers also dropped the title poster with ornate writing and that also revealed the technical crew. The film is written by Niyog Krishna, Sharfu-Suhas and Thasreeq Abdul Salam. Jimshi Khalid is the DOP. The film has music by Rex Vijayan, while Sushin Shyam will score the BGM. Noufal Abdullah has been roped in as the editor. Khalid has also co-produced the film.

More details on the genre and the rest of the cast of the new movie were not immediately revealed.

Which was Mammootty-Khalid Rahman’s first movie

Mammootty first collaborated with Khalid Rahman for the movie Unda, which featured the megastar as a cop, SI Mani, who, along with his team, is sent to a Naxalite-hit area on election duty. The film was well received by audiences and critics, alike. The film also featured Shine Tom Chacko, Arjun Ashokan, Dileesh Pothan and Lukman Avaran, among others.

On the other hand, Khalid last directed the buddy sports-comedy film, Alappuzha Gymkhana starring Naslen. The 2025 film, with young actors, was a winner at the box office too. Naslen, who was last seen in Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, has Mollywood Times set for release.

Which is Mammootty’s new movies

Mammootty was last seen in the slow burn thriller Kalamkaval, helmed by Jithin K Jose in his directorial debut.

The megastar played a serial killer in the film, which featured Vinayakan as a cop.

Mammootty’s upcoming movie is Patriot which will also see him reunite wit h Mohanlal onscreen after 18 years. The Mahesh Narayanan-helmed film will hit theatres worldwide on April 23, 2026.

On the other hand, Asif Ali is busy with his upcoming movie TikiTaka, which is expected to be released this year.
