Directed by Dharmessh Mehta, the Gujarati film features Rashami Desai and Amar Upadhyay in the lead roles, along with Virti Vaghani, Namit Shah, Hemang Dave, Tejal Vyas, and Yadit Acharya in pivotal roles. According to Sacnilk, Mom Tane Nai Samjay had collected a total of Rs 3.57 crore at the box office during its theatrical run.
The Mom Tane Nai Samjay tells the poignant story of Aashka, a mother whose unwavering dedication to her family goes unnoticed. After sacrificing her career and peace of mind while raising her children and managing the household, Aashka feels taken for granted by her workaholic husband.
Overwhelmed and frustrated due to neglect over the years, Aashka takes a drastic step of leaving her family. She finds profound purpose in life by mentoring students who are longing for maternal presence in their lives. By that time, Aashka's own family finally realises her value in their lives, leading them to appreciate the depth of her love and support, and seek her return.
Back in April, Rashami Desai, who portrayed the lead role in Mom Tane Nai Samjay, talked about playing mother or sister-in-law roles, and stated that she once thought these roles would limit her acting career.
While chatting with ETimes, the Tandoor actress shared that as time went by, she realised that there is nothing wrong with playing a mother on television. When asked about being quite young for such roles, the 39-year-old actress said that what truly matters is having a good story and a strong script that can catch people's minds.
Rashami Desai is a popular TV actress who played key roles in shows like Uttaran and Pari Hoon Main, both in 2008. She's currently playing the role of a mother (named Meenakshi Kapoor) in the show, Wagle Ki Duniya: Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey (since 2021).
