The Navya Nair film was earlier scheduled to release on February 13, but was postponed by a week. Paathirathri began streaming by the midnight of February 20 on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium. The film is available to stream in Malayalam on the platforms with English subtitles.

For her second directorial venture after the much-acclaimed Puzhu with veteran actor Mammootty, Ratheena PT opted for a cop movie. The film follows SI Jancy and CPO Harish as they go for their routine task of night patrolling duties. However, a crime is committed at midnight which directly impacts both the cops. How they deal with the situation is depicted in the movie, which also delves into the inner workings of the police force.
