Malayalam megastar Mammootty’s first major release of the year is Patriot, helmed by filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan. After kicking off the Patriot movie’s character posters with popular actress Nayanthara, the makers have now unveiled the look of two other key actors - Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban. Fans, who have taken a rather close look at the posters, have claimed that the poster hides the release date in a morse code.

What is the Patriot movie latest update

The makers of Patriot first released the posters of Nayanthara and Rajiv Menon from the upcoming movie on January 25. The third poster to be released on Sunday is that of Kunchacko Boban, followed by that of Fahadh Faasil. Notably, the posters do not have the characters' names but the same caption that “Dissent is patriotic, In a world full of traitors, be a Patriot !!".

The upcoming film features Mammootty in the lead role along with Mohanlal. The director Mahesh Narayanan had earlier clarified that Mohanlal would be seen in a full-fledged role and it would not be a cameo. Other notable names in the Patriot cast include Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil and Darshana Rajendran. Patriot marks Nayanthara's reunion with Mammootty after their 2016 film, Puthiya Niyamam.

When will Patriot release

The movie Patriot will release in theatres in April 2026, but is yet to announce an exact release date. Notably, April will also see the release of the much-anticipated Mohanlal movie Drishyam 3, helmed by Jeethu Joseph. Vaazha 2 is another Malayalam movie aiming for an April 2 release. There have been speculations about the Patriot release date to be April 23, but it is yet to be officially announced. After Nayanthara's poster was revealed, fans have been poring over it with some stating that the poster hides the release date as April 23 in Morse code. Whether this is actually true, or just a fan theory remains to be seen.
