The upcoming Malayalam movie Patriot, which brings together the legendary Mammootty and Mohanlal on screen after 18 years, is now less than two months away from its release. The makers have now dropped the second-look poster from the much-anticipated movie, helmed by Mahesh Narayanan.

What does Patriot second-look poster show

As promised by the makers, the Patriot second-look poster was dropped at 5pm on February 26, 2026. Superstar Mohanlal revealed the poster on his social media page, which showed both the lead stars in attack mode. The poster appears to be from a combat scene as Mammootty and Mohanlal train their guns on a target from a speeding car. Actor Kunchacko Boban, who plays a key role, is at the wheel, hinting that he is an ally to their mission.

Previously titled as MMMN, Patriot is touted to be a high-octane spy thriller. Mahesh Narayanan has also penned the script for the film, which is a Sushin Shyam musical.

When will Patriot movie release

Patriot will be released in theatres worldwide on April 23, 2026, the second-look poster has reiterated. Currently, no other Malayalam film has booked the same date, though several other big films will be releasing in April. The Mahesh Narayanan film will join other big summer releases, which will also see the other highly-anticipated film of Drishyam 3 hitting theatres. The Mohanlal-led Drishyam 3 is expected to have a blockbuster opening.

On the other hand, fans have been rueing that Patriot makers have not kick-started promotions in full swing. The team had earlier released the BTS video of the cast and crew shooting in Sri Lanka. The film had an extensive shooting schedule with filming in Sri Lanka and the UK, along with locations in New Delhi, Kashmir and Hyderabad.
