Rajesh Madhavan released the teaser of his film Pennum Porattum on February 4. The teaser begins with a village man, who finally gets a vintage television to function, winning a sarcastic praise from his mother. This sets the tone for the teaser, which further reveals the oddball characters of the film.

The core conflict appears to be a youth revealing his clandestine thoughts to a woman he likes, which gets known in the village and becomes a talking point. The woman Charulatha, her lover are at the centre of this mayhem along with Suttu, the dalmatian dog, which is linked to the tale. Chaotic scenes unfold as the villagers take sides, and lethal weapons are brought out as the anticipation for a fight builds. The teaser ends with a voiceover, by actor Tovino Thomas, that the world is so big that people can run away when they find themselves in a spot.

The teaser is winning positive feedback on social media. Pennum Porattum has already made its premiere, having screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa and the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in Thiruvananthapuram.
