Pichaikkaran 2, which was said to be releasing on April 14, got postponed owing to reasons best known to makers. The film, which marks the directorial debut of Vijay Antony, is one of the much-awaited sequels from Kollywood this year. The movie was in the news a while ago when Vijay met with an accident during its filming.

The team unveiled two video songs recently, which received good response from cinephiles. Kavya Thapar plays the female lead in the project which stars Radha Ravi, YG Mahendran, Mansoor Ali Khan, Hareesh Peradi and John Vijay essaying key roles.

Vijay Antony Film Corporation has bankrolled the film which has cinematography handled by Om Narayanan and music composed by Vijay himself. K Palani and Paul Antony have penned the screenplay for Pichaikkaran along with Vijay while Arusamy has helmed art direction.

The actor was last seen in Tamilarasan which hit the screens a week ago. The much-delayed movie was lying in the cans for a long time. Kodiyil Oruvan in 2021 was his previous outing which was released amid good expectations.

He has now officially announced that Pichaikkaran 2 will hit the screens in Tamil and Telugu on May 19. The latter version has been titled Bichagadu 2. The film's trailer will be unveiled tomorrow at 11 am. Baaram fame Priya Krishnaswamy was initially supposed to helm the movie.

However, Vijay took up the charge and announced his foray into direction later, leaving everyone surprised. Sasi, who directed Pichaikkaran in 2016, didn't take up the sequel as he was busy with other commitments.
