Rajkumar Hirani told Variety India that he is excited to work with AI for a project. He, in fact, confirmed that directing a short AI film is very much in the pipeline. “I’m excited about all things A.I. and I want to make a short A.I. film… So, it is going to be a great tool, actually. We should start becoming friends with it very soon. It’s here to stay,” Hirani said, pointing out that AI will make things ‘cost-effective.’
Further elaborating on his plans, Hirani shared, “I am planning to make a short, four to five-minute, film. Because I have a story to tell, and secondly, because I feel I can learn that way the best.” The filmmaker confirmed that he is already writing a script for it and will start work on the project within the next few months.
Among his movies, PK featuring Aamir Khan as an alien living among humans has received various comments from the netizens. Hirani weighed in on the comments and said that taking them seriously is a rather ‘bigger cause of concern.’
“You should try and make your film with honesty and hope people will appreciate that, because the moment you try to be extremely careful or make something that you think is safe, you’re going to get bashed for it. You might as well make a film with conviction,” he shared, adding that there will always be people who love and believe in the story you set out to tell. He emphasizes to not dilute your own beliefs because then there is no point in making a movie.
