Robinhood is Nithiin's latest film, which ended up as a flop at the box office. The action comedy was in the making for close to three years and was directed by Venky Kudumula. Robinhood is now streaming on OTT and is raking in solid views. A source close to the OTT platform has revealed that Robinhood has clocked over 300 million streaming minutes to date and is a smash hit on OTT.

One of the major reasons for this is that not many watched Robinhood in theaters. That is why they have now tuned in to stream the film on OTT. Also, as the film features clean comedy and Sreeleela as the heroine, a section of the audience is enjoying it online.

A majority of the critics felt that Robinhood is not a bad film, but due to its delay and an improper release date, the film failed to reach the audience. Nithiin, who has had back-to-back flops in his career, pinned a lot of hope on this film, as director Venky Kudumula had earlier given Nithiin the biggest hit of his career with Bheeshma.

But sadly, the combo did not work at the box office this time and landed the makers in losses. The likes of Aussie cricketer David Warner, strong comedy, and the film’s songs were also a smash hit. However, all of this did not help at the box office, though it is now being lauded on Zee5.

Nithiin gears up for Thammudu's release

As of now, Nithiin is ready with his new film Thammudu, which has been directed by Sreeram Venu. The film's trailer was launched a few days ago and impressed one and all. Dil Raju is the producer, and he revealed that Nithiin did not charge a single penny for the film. He stated that only if the film earns good money and becomes a success will Nithiin take a share in the profits.

This gesture from Nithiin has won the hearts of many, and all hopes are now pinned on Thammudu, which stars Saptami Gowda as the female lead. Amidst all this, Robinhood is doing great on OTT, and this should be a good sign for Nithiin going forward.
