Shah Rukh Khan’s action film King faces delays after his shoulder injury, pushing release from Oct 2026 to early 2027. Filming is paused as recovery takes priority, with schedule plans being revised.

Due to Shah Rukh Khan's recent injuries, filming of the highly anticipated action movie King has come to a halt. Dunki was the superstar's last feature film before this June project, which marked his return to the big screen. The film might potentially come out in late 2026 or perhaps early 2027, instead of October 2026, which was the original release date.

As per a report in Mid Day, industry insiders claim that Khan hurt his shoulder while filming an action scene, which is causing the postponement. The source revealed to the tabloid that the crew working on King has paused filming. After a few weeks of relaxation, Shah Rukh will be ready to return to face the camera. According to the report, the team doesn't want to jeopardise his health with an action-packed flick.
Both the high-octane action scenes and the debut big-screen appearance of SRK's daughter, Suhana Khan have contributed to the film's immense popularity, which is being directed by Siddharth Anand.

The film's production commenced in Mumbai earlier this year, adhering to a rigorous schedule. The makers are currently reevaluating their intentions to include a foreign shot in the next phase of production.
The insider added that the team is now chalking out the plan for the next schedule. It was formerly thought that King would be an offering for Gandhi Jayanti in 2026. At this time, it is not feasible; the release could be delayed by a few months until early 2027.
Following in the footsteps of Anand's other works with prominent Bollywood actors, the film is pitched as an expansive action entertainer. The production schedule is currently being revised; however, the lead actor's recovery remains the top priority.
There is a lot of anticipation for Khan's upcoming film because his previous three, Pathaan (2023), Jawan (2023), and Dunki (2023), were all critically and commercially successful. Fans will have to wait longer to see the superstar back in action, as the amended timeframe means King will not be able to continue that momentum.
The production crew is expected to finalise the revised schedule in the coming weeks, but for now, everyone's focus is on Khan's recuperation.
